Enerz designed and implemented the energy renovation of a Hesburger drive-in restaurant in Lahti, Finland. The energy repairs included the construction of an exhaust air heat recovery system, a comprehensive overhaul of the building automation system and remote monitoring room, and the refurbishment of a heat pump to cool the supply air to a model that also provides heated air. According to Enerz's calculations, energy efficiency measures reduced the restaurant's heating energy needs by almost 50%.
The project manager's description
of the project and its progress:
The aim of the project was to develop a replicable energy renovation concept for this type of drive-in restaurant. The goal was achieved well, and two similar renovations are now about to begin in Tampere - the lessons and observations from Lahti are clearly in mind.
